Im thinking about picking up a new dd for the winter time and I need some opinions. I havent gotten anything done to my current dd/project car in the past like year with all the different shit Ive had going on and its been killing me. Trying to finish all the work I have to do while driving the thing everyday just isnt happening.
My problem here is what do I settle on. My buddy picked up a Cherokee Classic a few months ago and its caught my interest a little bit. Ive thought about explorers, cherokees, blazers or maybe even a full size truck, but Im not sure. I would like to have the bed for hauling wood and what not, but I probably wouldn't use it extremely often. I like the idea of a mid-sized suv, like a cherokee or something similar. Gives me some cargo room for teh bass, 4x4 for the snow and some half ass decent gas mileage.
Ive been searching craigslist everyday for the past two weeks or so and have found a couple things here and there, but nothing I felt serious on. Today I ended up find a very very clean 98 Grand Cherokee not too far away. It apparently has no rust (which is a huge bonus), brand new tires and a couple other small things. Has a decent amount of mileage, but I have heard good things in the past about the straight sixes that come in the jeeps. The guys is asking $3000 for it (which is within my budget), I messaged him up to see if its still available.
Heres a pic of the jeep
And an old shot of the rust bucket
