Default I've lost my mind...

If any of you have noticed my absence for the past couple of months, here's why, I got sucked into buying guitars.

This was the first, which I traded in. It needed more work than I wanted to put into it. It was an ESP LTD MG-750.

I traded it in on a sweet Dean EVO Special Select.

It's pretty nice. $500 is a bit high for a Korean made guitar IMHO but it's twice the guitar that the ESP was. It has great tone and a set neck (I'm a sucker for set necks!) and it's mahogany on the neck and body.

Sadly it has no trem so I bought this:

It's a Squier Stagemaster. It was the princely sum of $110 and it's got almost as good action as the Dean. I bought some pickups for it to replace the mismatched set in it but I haven't received them yet.

Tomorrow I'm going to go pick up a 1998 Squier Mexican Strat in Lake Placid Blue. It's got the traditional single coil setup and vintage style trem so it'll give me that twang you just can't get with humbuckers. Of course it'll be getting upgraded pickups and I may even get a Warmoth neck for it down the road.

So, yeah, I'm outta my mind.

What Fenders do you have?

I think about getting acoustics from time to time. Then I remember that without distortion power chords don't sound all that great and I forget about it.

I've had a few Fenders over the years and a couple of G&L's (USA, it was pre-import G&L's) as well. Those were the true Fenders of their time. It was in '80 right after he and George started G&L and they were selling them for less than the CBS Fenders were going for at the time.

And Wenn, I think that the finish is what decided me on that particular guitar. They had several different style Deans for the same money. None looked 1/2 as nice as mine

Yeah, I was taught by a classical guitarist so acoustic is kinda my backaround but I prefer electric. I have 2 teles, one mexican made and one which I splurged and bought an american made. I've got some cheaper Cort guitars too that are my party guitars. (won't bring a $500+ guitar to play around drunk people)

Johnson guitars are cheap solid guitars. One of the few chinese made guitars I endorse. You can pick up an acoustic for just above 100 bucks. I always recemmond them to people who may or may not get serious about playing. I've got 1 take anywhere I am worried about breaking something lol.

I had a 1996 MIM tele (also LPB) I bought new (ordered it as well) from the dealer and sold it back a week or two later. I just couldn't get into that guitar for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I'm a tele fan but that particular axe just wasn't for me. I think it was that it was alder and not swamp ash, it was far too bright.

I also had a MIJ HM Strat (contemporary series) and a MIK Squier H-S-H floyd strat that got upgraded to a USA neck (by Fender, my neck was bad) and to EMG 81-SA-85 pickups by me. Stupid me I sold it because it needed a pickguard and it bugged me. The old neck was a 24 fret with the standard strat pocket so the pickguard was notched for the overhang and the replacement neck was 22 fret so there was a wedge of plastic missing.

It's a move I've regretted ever since.
