Default need opinions,

well, some of you know i'm looking at changing or upgrading my system.

I have 2 Crescendo 3k's and currently two dc lvl5 18' dual 1's. *(strapped at 1 ohm)

i currently did best a 152.1 sealed and a 156.6 outlaw.

and I'm looking to get louder.

My thoughts are this, with my current box, its not as efficient as it could be.I have 90 degree bends in the areo's and the box is a hair small.

I have about 11.6 cubes after disp for the subs. which is around 5.8 ported for the 18's. I know Rusty said thats fine, and they work great. BUT... I'm thinking about going with either multiple smaller subs and make the box a slot port at the driver side *(unlike the current port location at the headrest)

so that I can get louder. but still play music. I do not and will not build a burp box for my truck, but am not unwilling to have a daily port and then an open (spl) port.

my truck peaks anywhere from 44 to 47 htz. depending on tuning thats my avg.

my options are as follows:

six Sundown sa12's
six Crescendo 12's
2 DD 9515G's
3 AQ hdc3 15's
4 Aq hdc3 12's
six Atomic Quantum12's
or similiar.

i have a budget of 900 firm.

my question is, do i do smaller cone area with a more efficient box and gain, or do i try and make the box as efficient as possible and gain in cone area?

with 6 12's I can do the port as a slot port on the driver side, and be fine. with around 12 cubes after disp, and about 190 sq inches of port.

and 12 cubes is around the max airspace I have to work with as well lol

what are some ideas or thoughts.?

also... I have at 1 ohm strapped 8k rms, at 2 ohms 6k rms and at 4 i have 3k rms.

would like to use power to my advantage since I have it lol.

yes crescendo will be making 12's. Just not the 4 inch coil monsters that are coming.

they will be 3 inch coils but still monsters!

i'm thinking 6 12's. thats going to be the best setup, more cone area, and more coils to dissipate heat so I can do bass race setups on it as well..

I think that with 6 Decent 12's on around 6500 give or take up to 7k rms that it should get pretty nasty! and be very reliable.

also, 4 inch coils are more capable of higher power, but are less efficient.

where as 3 inch coils are more efficient but less capable of higher power demands.
