For me..

Hunting fixed blade, older buck woodsman( made in the USA one). Has been a great knife. Gutted and skinned many an animal with it.

everday carry, whatever i grab that is laying on the dresser. They get abused, so could be a buck, schrade, benchmade.

Just so you know 440 stainless sucks massive man meat. my cold steel recon1 is AUS8 A and it holds a damn good edge. I dont use and abuse it like I would a cheap 440 knife because I paid like 75 for it but it can still shave arm hairs with the factory grind and ive had it for a while now.

I believe VG1 is another really good steel for edge retention.. 98ack will have some input because he likes knives too.n my cold steel is made in taiwan but damnit they have some good ass steel and the lock on it is amazing.
