Default Anyone know how to bond Kevlar/CF?

Does anyone on here know how to bond/glue 2 pieces of Kevlar or CF? Needs to have something close to the strength of a weld.

Best answer I had so far was Loctite 9462 Hysol, but it has a shear strength of 3500psi.

What is your goal? does it need to be flexible?
3500psi seems fairly strong.

No, rigidity is key. I'm choosing the Kevlar over steel for the 525,000 UTS. But I need a way to bond it, vs. welding the steel.

The Kevlar is already formed and resined. Suggestions?

Virtually any combination of iron, steel, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, pewter, porcelain, ceramic, marble, glass, PVC & ABS, concrete, fiberglass, wood, fabric, paper -- just about any porous and non-porous material.

Then your bond strength is only as strong as the resin you are bonding to.

if it's a lap connection, using the same resin is your best bet. Etching and possibly drilling the material to allow the resin to grip better is a good idea.

if it's a butt connection, you'll need to figure out a backer and possibly a front side reinforcement.
