Default Any of you follow Wall Street much or into trading?

I've been a technical trader for about a year now.. recently started monitoring a new chart pattern i've been trying lately... Just set this up last night on updown.com (1,000,000 of fake money to trade) AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TODAY!!

You gotta admit... thats friggin impressive!

IF ONLY IT WAS REAL!!

so seeing as Congress probably won't make a deal by Aug. second. anybody know who will benefit on wall-street from this? There's gotta be some kind of security that I just can't think of (besides gold/silver which I frickin sold thursday based on the rumor of a deal)

If I had a million dollars I would pay someone else to make money off of it. Percentage wise, I make quite a bit more from online poker than that (although partypoker just let me know that I won't be getting the $1716 they owe me...argg...I started the account with $30 about a year ago though, lol).

I used to be glued to it. I would trade obsessively and would lose / win by large % numbers on a daily basis. The problem with trading individual securities is that no single person has the resources to keep tabs on everything 100% of the time. You're going to end up with imperfect information and make bad decisions - that's just a fact. Also the risk associated with trading individual securities is tremendous for an single investor over a short period of time.

In my experience, it's better to expose yourself to a lesser amount of risk and try to grow slowly by examining longer term trends that don't have as much volatility, but are better over a longer period of time.

Buy low, sell high. If you know what will recover it's simple, but won't be quick. Ask Warren Buffet.
