Default What to do? choosing vehicle

Ok to start off im 20 and a full time student. I currently do not have a car and need one . I have a 2000 grand cherokee sitting in my shop with no engine. I can also but a 2007 Pontiac G6 with 45,000 miles for $6500. I would put a downpayment of $2000 on the g6 and pay around $300 a month with insurance for it. But the kicker is that i want to get a apartment soon and that means id be paying about $900 a month with car and housing which is close to my monthly income. Should i buy the g6 and sell the jeep or stick a engine in it?

I'd put an engine in the Jeep if it'll give you more expendable cash. I have stressed my budget to its max in the past. It really isn't worth it.

id probably look into something that would get you around for now...then later you can get something you like to drive. I know that now..My income a month I would guess is close to yours and I have to make a 400 dollar car payment on my gt mustang, let me tell you, it would be nice to have some extra cash!
