Talking Car audio parts in your home

I'm sure most of you, like me, have random car audio pieces lying all over your house or garage or stuffed in closets somewhere not being used. I recently cleaned out my garage and found a stock head unit from a 94 Volvo. Its been on Craigslist for free for almost a month now and no one even wants it to throw at stray animals or anything.

So I was wondering...
Is it possible to take this head unit and somehow use it as my garage radio? I just need a way to power it and I can make a little box to put it in with a couple super cheap speakers and have a nice conversation piece (and radio/cd player) in my garage. It'd also be nice to have it as a kind of bench testing area.

Anything?

yes.

you need:
10 amp 12v power supply
wiring harness or pin-out of said wiring for the head unit
and an antenna

in my opinion, it's not worth messing with since the power supply will cost more than a cheap boom-box.

The power supply could be from an old computer. Most do have 12v outputs, with grounds of course. Hook up the radio to an old computer and some speakers and your set.

What about using a laptop power cable or something?
I know I could get a boom box for cheaper. Was just playing with the idea.

sonic you do not need a 10A power supply that is extreme over kill even 5A one would work just fine if you want it to sound nice and clear get a head unit and 4 channel amp and a few computer PSU's. its not that difficult and can sound great

About how much amperage would you need to power this stuff if you just wanted to use a head unit and a little amp for speakers?

edit: And how do you power on an ATX power supply outside of a case? Where is the "ON" switch?

my jensen draws around 26 amps on 4 PSU's with sub going and it cant work with it. so id say probably 5 to 10A at most on a amp that is only pushing mids and highs. when i have the chance il see how much the amp draws without the subwoofer on.
