Default question for the parents

My nephew is 7 years old. He has a temper, and has been in trouble for it before.

About a month ago, he called my sister(his mom) a ****, as well as her boyfriend. He was punished, I talked to him about it, and my father talked to him about how he needs to behave and how its not okay. He told his mom sorry, and told her he loved her and he was good for awhile. Well yesterday my sister called me and said he called her a **** again, said he hated her, said he wanted her dead, and other bad things. He was again, punished, and I had my sisters boyfriend call me as soon as my nephew woke up from a nap.

I asked him if he did anything I should know about, he was embarrassed and said yes. He told me what he did. I asked him if he realized it was not okay to say those things and he said yes and that he was sorry. I thought it got through to him. Well come to find out this morning last night he told his mom he hated her, threatened to chop her head off (exact words), and said a bunch of mean things. I haven't talked to yet, but don't know what to say to him. My sister doest know how to solve this (she has had him seen by a doctor who put him on medication that did help). I want to help my sister in some way. I am a big part of my nephew's life and he never had these problems until my second nephew was born about a year ago.

My sister said she might call up the police department to have a police officer come talk to him and scare him into behaving good, but i fear it will only help for awhile. Is this just a kid acting out or do you think its a MUCH larger problem?

Any help will be appreciated, and if you have no good advise don't bother posting. He is a good kid, and he is a nice kid but he is having behavior problems recently.

How is his behavior at school and in other public places? Is his aggression just towards his mom and her dude?

I think he has only been in trouble at school once and it was minor. He really only says those things to his mom and her boyfriend when he is mad he didnt get his way. Its not like he comes from a broken home or anything. My sister and her boyfriend have been dating for 6 years. His biological dad left the picture when he was very young (9months- 1year old) and was raised by my sister, me, my grandma, my mom, and my dad up until about year old when steve came into the family. The second kid is with steve.

Sounds like a medical condition and might need medications. Some kids grow out of this stage. Honestly you need to blame the parents for teaching him these words.

If it was a much bigger problem I would think he would be acting out everywhere.

Does steve treat him any different than his actuaal biological kid? Might be some resentment there.

Don't put him on medication unless a REAL doctor talks to the kid, like a specialist, because there are so many idiots doctors out there.

I was a pretty bad kid when i was young, hit the kid, not going to hold that in my head, do it! If he keeps acting up bad then you should do something, maybe put soap in his mouth(dish soap!).

tylork92 brings up a valid point, how does steve treat him? Now that there is another child in the picture is he shown less attention now? It could just be stage of life he's going through, something may have happened that he does not now how to tell anyone.

You don't need a doctors prescription to buy a belt.

x2? If he knows hes not going to get punished besides a little talk, hes going to continue to do so. Sometimes his "sorry" is only to get out of trouble if hes continuing to get away with it
