I had no clue he was behind me due to the fact that he had come down from his "office up the hill" where he could hear my music. Anyway I get out of the 4Runner and I am walking in the house and all the sudden there is a cop car hauling ass through base housing lights all flashing. Leo says "Someone's in trouble" and we keep walking, the cop turns into our driveway and pull up next to me and with a SUPER lisp says " Who's vehicle is that?" and points to about 5 cars in the parking lot.
"Which one?" I respond, "That one" and points again at like the same 5 cars, not realizing I am standing and he is still sitting in his cop car about 5 feet away from me and I have no clue where he is pointing. Ok soooo I go " I am sorry which car?" He finally gets it and goes" The maroon one." Still there were 2 maroon cars there but I didn't want to be too much of a jackass so I go "The Toyota 4Runner?" ( I know specifics can be hard to grasp at times)
He says "Yes the one with the stickers" I tell him its my vehicle, and he's like "What business do you have driving around on base boomin your music like that?" And I am like "Uhhhh welllll" and he goes
"The law on base says 50 feet, I know its hard, and I like loud music too but you cant do that on base" , and I said, "50 feet with the windows UP right, I know the reg(ulation) I have read it"
Well he got mad because I knew the law and no one was pulling the wool over MY eyes, and he says, " Well I can call your First Shirt, or you can just say 'yes sir' and not do it again." I said yes sir and he angrily sped away.
So chalk one up for me I win for once, I guess knowing the law before violating actually helped since I wasn't in violation, (my windows were down lol) plus I just got done reading about 500 pages of the security forces regs and I don't even think that they can give me a ticket for it anyway even if my windows were to have been up. Sooooooooooo thats all just thought I would throw this out there
In addendum, I was NOT in a residential area, and 99% of the base is not at wk on Saturday, so there isn't even an issue of disturbing anyone, OH and we also have I dunno F-16 FIGHTER JETS that make noise in excess of 170 Db at full after burner EVERY day and no one goes and yells at the pilots. lol
