Well this past week I got a paycheck and thought Id spend it on something not car audio related. So I read up and built a computer, something I have always wanted to do. I use my computer mostly for internet, photoshop, and video editing also to play music so I wanted something pretty nice but not super expensive. I think my selection was well made and I hope this satisfies me for the next few years (till the octacores become affordable
Well here goes...
Intel Quad Core Q6000 OC'd to 3.2Ghz or 3.4Ghz(depending on temps)
DFI P35 Dark Edition Mobo
OCZ 4gb timed to 5-5-5-15 at 1333Mhz
MSI HD4850-R w/ copper cooling
Xclio Wind Tunnel ATX Full Tower
Artic Freezer 7 CPU fan with Silver 5
Corsair 650W PSU
(2) 640gb WD Caviar in Raid 0
All the parts were ordered and paid for, should be getting three shipments in, one on monday, tuesday, and wednesday. So it looks like wed. night I will be putting it all together, testing temps and setting the overclocks. I also just picked up a nice LG 22" monitor and a kickass wireless keyboard and mouse from logitech. The CPU part of the build came out to just about a grand, which for what I feel I will have, it will be well worth it. Currently I am on a P4 3.0ghz with 512mb of ram. It does the job for internet, music, and word processing but it isnt the fastest thing when I open up dreamweaver or photoshop so this should be a great improvement.
