Default 158.3

I'm at the SkillsUSA state competition in Corpus right now. In the exhibit hall have a Hummer H2 decked out in show fashion with 6 Memphis 10's (didn't ask about model but they had white & black cones) and 4 or 5 smaller Memphis amps. Being a slightly inquisitive mind, I asked the guy what numbers it put up and he told me "158.3". Now I've no experience with anything that's been metered, but based on what I've seen for builds that are capable of 150+, this one is no where near. I'll try to get some pics, but I don't have a camera on me other than my crappy phone.

Anyways, how hard is it to hit 158.3 Db? I.e, what would have to be done to a vehicle to be capable...

very hard. could possibly be on the AQ meter, which in TL terms would be around a 149-152 region..which could be possible with 6 10's...

sounds like he had 6 memphis PR 10's

3 bass amps, 2 subs per bass amp, and 2 mids and highs amp...

Yeah, I almost laughed right in front of him. It's a fiberglass box that is fairly small. No more than 6 cubes total.

I personally dont know...

BUT!

Heard someone was doing 150+ with 6 RE re 12's. True or not, I dont know but I thought that seemed rather good considering the 12's used...

AQ meter?

If its the AC meter it could be as much as 10db lower on the TL and then you don't even know where it was metered (windshield vs kickpanel) which could be another 3-3.5db.
