Default What's the value on this...

I have a JL audio 13.5 w7 in great condition, but has blown coils, oh and the JL audio emblem on the cone is gone from hitting to hard. Other than that it is in great conditon. So was just wondering about what these would be worth if selling them?

Its $350 from JL to get fixed so I wouldn't call it a paper weight... Lots of people love the W7's. I can't believe that nobody can make parts for these things...? But have been trying to find somebody who can cause honestly $350 isn't worth it to me, but to each thier own.

if it was a 12w7 theres a couple guys that carry parts like resko1 and splaudio that would fit since it uses a 3" coil. the 13w7 uses i believe a 3.5" coil which is rare. not trying to offend you man i was in the same situation with a w7.
i would post it in craiglist and just take offers...

I guess thier is one in every family... Look other than the coil be blown and missing badge on the cone it is in great condition... Meaning no rip, scuffs, tears in the surrounding, no digs, dents or marks on the cone, motor and basket in great condition. That's what I was refering to being in great conditon.

Thats the reason I posted this, I was offered an amount on this and was trying to see if it was a good deal. I already know the coil is a off size, but have been told that people are working on making coils for this. No offense taken. I find it kind of wierd that all these companies out there and the only place that can fix it is JL... lmao, come on somebody wind me a good coil for this thing so I don't have to go through JL and then I can rename it lmoa.

if it doesnt work the rest of the parts are useless and dont add any value

companies will wind you a custom coil if u can find the size it uses, but most of those companies will make you order 50+ minimum

The 8W7 uses a 2.25-inch diameter coil (2.0-inch winding height), the 10W7 uses a 2.75-inch diameter coil (2.3-inch winding height), the 12W7 employs a 3-inch unit (2.8-inch winding height) and the 13W7 enters battle with a 3.55-inch diameter voice coil (3.0-inch winding height). You may have noticed that, for three of the W7's [8"/10"/13"], we chose non-standard coil diameters. Because of the complete design freedom afforded us by the fact that we were willing and able to tool everything for these speakers, we were able to precisely specify the diameters that would produce optimum performance for each model.

I understnad that but to somebody who might want to get this to send of to JL it would have some value, and the condition of the rest of the components would have value... I wouldn't want to but a jacked up sub to have sent off for repair. But heck maybe I will just have it sent off, would be a good everyday driver for my woman lol.

Man that suck... Wish JL could just sent me a coil and spider then lol. Try to do my first rebuild on something lol. If carefull should be able to reuse the cone and surrounding unless thier is something I dont know about with the coil/cone mounting. I am sure they wouldn't send any parts out just because they would be loosing business. Anyways... I think I might just keep it and send it to have fixed. I was told awhile back Fix my speaker was working on something so they could rebuild them.
