Default Upset and need to vent

First of all I would greatly appreciate no rude/snide/stupid comments. My wife and I were lucky enough to have one child and due to health issues we are unable to have anymore. Nothing life threatening just female issues I suppose would sum it up. So my wife and I start looking into being foster parents. After months of research and preparing to start the required classes we find out it is vary difficult for military families to become foster parents due to deployment cycles. So I was accepting to that and somewhat understood. So we began looking into adopting.Met with a lawyer today and come to find out just the lawyer fee's will run us a little shy of 10grand. All of the other bogus stuff that goes along with it could run up to 15grand. He said a typical adoption in Florida averages 15-20grand total. So they recommended I get an adopted loan. So basically I would have to finance my 2nd child for 4-6years at 11% interest. What the ****ing ****!!!?!!?!?!?! this country sickens be sometimes. Momma says greed is the DEVIL

ye its such bullshit

my boss spent about 25k to adopt his daughter from china....

I can understand the background checks but is 15k to adopt a kid needed ? I dont get it... you are willing to give a kid a home that would most likely not have one and become a part of the less desirable part of society (before people bash me its statistics, kids with out family life end up doing crime.) and you cant do that for Free or at least cheap ?

i dont get it

I was just at Wal Mart. there were several families that probably wouldn't notice if one of their 18 kids went missing.

I feel for you though man, it's pretty messed up if you think about it.

I feel for you. Its a shame. They'll pay people to keep shuffling kids around in foster care and charge a ridiculous sum to truly adopt and make a life long commitment to a child. It just doesn't sound right

I am in a fostering family at the moment and am one of 2 biological children out of 7. It is a pain in the ass to adopt but a great thing! I love all my siblings and am the oldest out of all of us. I kinda understand why it comes with the cost to adopt a child. Foster parents get paid a larger sum of money each month to raise these children and its not all from taxes and child support thats for sure. Keep at it man itll happen and once it does your family will be glad no matter the cost.

Andy, take this for what it is.

Save the fees. Find a surrogate mother, and get 100% custody and all agreements in writing.

no need to adopt if the child is already yours. just pay a decent surrogate to carry the child. {incubator}

if only it were that easy.

or..

find a chick who's already knocked up and doesn't want it.. then get her to claim you are the father.. then take 100% custody. [this one is kind-of shady]

both options could go horribly wrong if it's not in writing though.

Meh. We did this and the mother changed her mind in the maternity ward and there isnt a damn thing you can do about it. The sad thing is she has since lost custody if the child and its now in the foster system.

That being said has the OP considered fostering children? Its incredibly rewarding , emotionally I mean.
