I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to welcome me to CACO!
This thread is just to bring everyone up to speed on some things that I have going on.
Everyone may contact me through the form on my site or get a quote from a dealer regarding the purchase of a high output alternator for your vehicle. In the event that you contact one of my dealers for a quote instead of through the site this will yield a savings on your purchase with us! The savings will depend on which alternator you are purchasing. Please contact Nick regarding any dealer inquiries on this forum (user name: profundus-sanus). Starting tomorrow Nicks email contact will be [email protected]
The site will be under expansion with a series of options to customize your alternator build. These custom options will consist of things like your powder coat colors or output options if there is more then one upgrade for your vehicle. I will post some blogs/sticky threads on the site as well as here on CACO regarding tips/information that can help you with your alternator installation.
One of the most important questions regarding an alternator build is lead time. Lately I have been doing a large variety of foreign vehicles that I may not stock parts on the shelf for often. Please be aware that every alternator build is completely custom (not every build may go flawlessly from the start) In the event that a problem occurs with assembly/bench testing then you will be made aware of this and updated as the build reaches the final stages before shipment. Please also be aware that I am going to take the time to make sure you have a quality product that performs well and is up to my standards. The typical build time as Jason has made everyone aware is roughly 4 weeks for any custom orders that I usually do not stock all the parts for (some may be longer depending on the vehicle). Each alternators parts all have to work together correctly in order for them to up to par for me to ship.
The warranty covers all labor on your alternator for the lifetime of the alternator. In the event that you are need of any work/repair on a unit you are only responsible for covering the shipping on the unit to me and the cost of parts for the repair.
If you have any further questions feel free to contact me or Jason.
We look forward to being a new member of CACO!

What is the average cost to fix an alt vs new? ex: 50%
What your speaking of in terms of a repair early within the first 90 days is subjective to every customer. As soon as you install an alternator on your vehicle it is being abused and wearing out, just like an amplifier or a set of speakers (everything has some kind of life to it)
If you send a unit in for warranty and there is damage to it caused from incorrect installation obviously this is not covered. Incorrect installation could be this example..
-Plugging the alternator in or turning it on without it hooked up to your batteries. Running the alternator like this will damage it if ran long enough. Some customers have thought that they can check for voltage output on an alternator without the charge stud connected to their batteries. DO NOT DO THIS. There must always be a load on the alternator.
If you send a unit in that stops charging for no reason and I go over the wiring with you this would be considered warranty on parts (within the first 90 days) after I evaluate the damages if there are any.
Repairs can range wide in cost depending on damages. Some cases may be as low as 30-40 dollars for blown diodes/rectifiers or as much as 100-130 for a whole new stator if it has burned up. So far to date I am pleased to announce that no one has been capable of burning up one of my stators even in an instance where they have had a direct short (in applications with no fuses)

Yes I do
You can send the unit to me and I will deduct the core charges (cores can range anywhere from 60-90 discounted off the regular upgrade with the new case supplied)
