Default voltage adjustment

I have been looking at getting a Singer alt for a dual bracket I'm getting. I want to run my audio at 18v. I would like to stay away from those big regulators and having to find a place to mount it if possiable. Im trying to figure out what my options are for adjusting my voltage?

What "big" regualulators? The one I had was pretty small and went right under my seat. And depending on what vehicle you have, it could be even smaller.

The one I see people running is the big blue one that you connect the 3 wires to and you can adjust your voltage. I'm looking at something like a Mechman AVBM Or a XS VCM(TBD) where I could just plug it in and adjust. No wires no worries.

you can modify an internally regulated one for a 16v setup fyi.

And OP you know you need all new batteries right?

But thats modify, he needs a VCM, well if he wants max voltage he can get, but like when it gets below a certain temp outside then the cold voltage is alot higher so u want to dial it down, like my car, in winter on a cold start im at 15-15.2 driving on the highway, when i start the car again after driving then im at 14.8 on highway, but in summer on a cold start im at 14.6-14.7 idling at 1000 rpm, doesnt go higher on highway, 14.6 idling at 700rpm, but after shutting off the car n starting back up then im at 14.3 idling 700rpm n 14.4 idling at 1000 rpm, will go to 14.6 if my system is off n driving on the highway for 10 minutes, so as u can c i need a xs power VCM, but my alt plug in only has 2 wires in the middle of the 4 pin gm plug so i dont think xs power VCM will work, mine goes through pcm i guess(so ive read) but if the same thing happens to OP then he would need a VCM to keep the best voltage possible rather than just modify the internal regulator n have so much fluxability in voltage

I have a dc alt and was curious if the MLA module is worth the $220 they want for 02 dodge dakota. Dc said for around $100 i could send it back and it could be swapped to externally regulated and just trick the pcm in thinking its hooked up to it. OP, may just see if it can be done before hand. if i would of known it was possible, probably would have done it.

Yes sir. I have 1 xs3400 so I will sell that and put money with it to get 2 xs d1600's.

I really just want to know if I use a Mechman AVBM could I just plug it into my regulated Singer alt and be good to go?

I would get it external, but I don't want to run a external regulator. I want some thing where I can just plug and play. No finding space to mount some box or all that jazz.
