Exclamation Having bad voltage spikes.

Ok so I finally got the alt installed an got a new belt since I got a smaller pulley. Now when I turned the car on my voltage went straight to 19 volts so I thought the bypass might have been up all the way.

Well I go look an it was so I turned it all the way down an tried starting m jeep again well now my spikes range from 9 volts all the way to 19 volts an in between.

My setup is kinetik hc1800 upfront, big three in 1/0, singer 250amp alt with bypass, sa 15s, dc pai 2k.

Can someone please help me with this I neve had a bypass before an wonderin if I could just not use it an be safe unless someone can help me fix my spikes.

It let's me set the voltage at which the alt charges instead of the computer in my jeep controlling it.

Like an external voltage reg? Like the Mechman adjustable external reg?

Might be something wrong with the external reg.

ah i dont know how to do all that plus i dont want to ruin anything but the alt grounds on the alt are grounded to the alt. im not sure if the one ground is long enough to reach anywhere else.
