just figured id give you guys a quick review of what ive got goin on - ordered a singer hairpin / 6 phase alt - some plastic broke in shipping - they fixed it right away for me and sent it back, had to swap a wire on my adapter harness adapter to function fully - install was easy as pie.
now that ive got about 50 / 75 ish miles on my truck since alternator install - i notice that its even stronger than it was when i first put it in. maby the brushes are fully seated now - but daily driving im looking at 15.1 at cold start up and by the time i reach work im still at around 14.9 volts on my stinger volt meter ( calabrated with a fluke ),
i have yet to do a clamp test - my buddy with a clamp meter is out of town still but my system has the ability to put out about 4400 watts and when im going strait abuse full blast i can only get voltage down to 12.9/13.0 volts for just a split second before it starts climbing back up to the 14v range.
im suprised how quickly voltage is recovering with this alternator in - and im also pretty happy with the alternators charging voltages.
when i first installed - i had a wet cell up under the hood - and 3 100 amp hour agm battery reserves in the rear. came to find the wet cell up front was a pile of crap - once i removed that batt and stole a rear battery to put up under hood - that was my akillies heal of this system. so check your batterys guys. un hook them from eachother and test with dmm after a few hours. my rear bank was 13.0 and under hood was 12.3 lol.
anyhow - i just wanted to post and thank mylows10 for the sweet alternator and to recomend the singer hairpin ( gm large case internal regulated ) to whoever happens to need a crazy good alt.
