I currently have a set of Focal Performance PS165 Components in my kick panels. Had them installed in a friends Escape. They sound great. But now that I have them in Q-Logic Kick Panels, meaning they aren't sealed up, I was wondering what people thought about the two. I know there is a price difference with the HSK 165 XL being about $150 more.
I run Focal all around. Focal Utopia's in the doors and Focal K2p comps in the rear with the tweeter switched out from the metal dome tweeter to a Digital Design T1 silk dome tweeter. I have always liked Focal, but I have been wanting to try the Hertz Audio HSK 165 XL comps for quite a while. The Utopia's are wanting more power than what I am sending them, so I might upgrade to a larger amp from my current amp that does 125wrms @ 13.8v @ 4 ohm. Wish these speakers were 2 or 3 ohm comps so I could get more power out of the amp to send to the Utopia's, which I have sent 250wrms to each side of my Utopia's and they really shined and sounded awesome.
This was in my 2008 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLE2, but unfortunately, a car pulled out infront of me while I was going 65 on the highway about 30 yards ahead of me and I swerved, lost control, rolled the truck and totaled the truck. So I'm looking into the NNBS 2007 Tahoe or preferably the Yukon, but would be sweet if I could find a good deal on a Yukon XLT so I can have some extra room for a larger sub stage.
So what do you guys think? The Focal PS165's sound great. I could have the option of selling the Hertz Audio or the PS165's to a friend if I like one better than the other, plus I would like to run Focals all around.
Ok, got off topic there for a minute. Didnt know if I should post this in the SQ thread or the General thread. Would be nice if CACO would have a Speaker section, Subwoofer section and an amplifier section.
I'm going to post the same thread in the General Section.
So if anyone has experience with both, please chime in.
I apologize for double posting in this section and the General Section. I didnt know which one to post in and which would receive more responses.
