I went from a 9833 to the 9887, and I gotta say the SQ is worlds apart. I'd have to go back and spend some time on my Sony CDX-C910, but I'd say the 9887 is probably the best unit I've owned to date.

The limited display and iPod navigation are probably the weakest link of the unit, but I love my 9887, would definitely pick that one.

2006 = old school??
You must go through decks like underware...

The 9887 has only been discontinued since like 2010. (You can still get the 9886's)

1 year = 10 years when it comes to electronics.

Never have had the 9855 but I have had my 9887 for a couple years now and I love it. The sound it has, has made it hard for me to find another unit.
