Default Amp question..

So I have two sets of focal ps 165 being powered by audiopipe amp rms rating of 100x4 at 4 ohm( i know its not clean power and probably not doing rated) but was wondering if I went with JL 360x4 which is rated 70x4 if I would hear a difference if so what

honestly, when set correctly it should sound about the same in all reality.

If one sounds better than the other, it's either because of the crossovers & settings OR because the better sounding one legitimately has more power potential before distorting.

I'm happy with my audio pipe amps I have 1800d audio pipe on two 10" TNT America. Bass which sound real good but I feel the focals could do better I'm gonna give the audiopipe amp little more time than maybe spend extra money and get the Alphine f4 I believe

there will be a huge difference if you have the speakers installed to the best they can be. They should be more responsive and detailed.
The biggest thing about running better amplifiers is the way they control the movement of the driver, the dampening factor of the amplifier is what tells you how well the speaker is controlled. Now the most "awesome" part is how easy it is to mess with these numbers to make them seem better then what they really are. It's way to easy for a company to publish once in a life time specs over real world.
if you can afford it and havn't bought your amplifier yet I'd suggest grabbing this over the jl. It has a little more power, which is good, and it edges the jl out in other aspects as well.

another thing you could do is look in the classifieds section on diyma to see if you could find another 4 channel used.

Yea definitely going to look at that amp, I was trying to go with same amps but decided I rather go for sound than looks on my amp rack.

jl has decent quality stuff, but it's mid line when compared to the real heavy hitters.

I'm seriously thinking the little Alphine amp simply because of size it's the wires are really close together back there and not liking that. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356299221.920166.jpg
Build isn't completed yet need amp rack and trim around the box to cover up extra battery.
