Default SUB mounting

i see out there that some people like to mount their subs inverted. i wanna know how is it compared to the normal flush mount. whats the pros n cons in doin the inverted mount. overall compared to the flush mount is it better or not. just wanna get some opinions out there to goin about future builds..... thanks

Get to see the awesome sub all the time. No displacement in your box. If you set your phase correctly I don't think there is much difference.

Takes up zero displacement as mentioned. Either switch your phase or switch your pos and neg wires at the amp.

my focal is good inverted but it's not exactly normal either.

A well designed speaker will not have any/barely mechanical noise. The whole point of the speaker is to reproduce the signal of the music, not add to the signal.

ive never had mechanical noise issues on an inverted sub.... honestly do you pull things out of your ass?

but like puredynamics stated if the sub is designed right, you wont have mechanical noise...

My sa's do, my w7 has a ton of it, My XXX did, my aq's were horrible at it. Hell 90% of the subs I have had you can hear the cooling working when playing it free air. The focal, the dayton, and my sig are the only subs I can think of at this moment I couldn't hear the cooling on. Just because the bass is louder most of the time doesn't mean it isn't there.
