Default What to use for front midbass?

I have an active setup using Polk DB-1000 tweeters and its time to swap out my 2way 6.5" Sony Xplods that came with the car.

Keeping my tweeters and using a budget of $100 would this speaker work? 6" Midrange PDF of specs

I have a 6.5 in there and if it doesn't screw right in I'll build a ring. Needs to hold up to at least 50 watts RMS but 100 will give me space to step up to a bigger amp or bridge what I have down the road.

Opinions?

80hz to 4khz more or less. I'll probably cross it at 60 steeply and then 4k or so more softly

These ones look very nice. Cheaper and better roll off/low end response. Any personal experience with them? 100 watts to much?

Fs of 80hz means they won't be working well in the lower end of the range you want. My suggestion would be the Bravox EXS6. They'll play down into the mid 40's... Plenty for your midbass, and they'll take 200w no trouble, so plenty of room for amp expansion. Last time I checked they were like $50-60 each from C3.

Edit: Those Silver Flute's look nice...

The Bravox look like they'd work too. Bigger coil for more power. 90 a pair is in budget too.
EXS6

I love mine. Been running them for a handful of years with my P450.4 bridged per speaker (rated at something like 225w per speaker), running them basically full range. They're currently the only speakers in my car, and I'm not so sure I would change it (install tweets) even if I had the 2 channel amp to do it due to laziness and that these get the job done. I've got a couple nasty resonances coming out of my doors, but I'd say that's more install based than anything.
