Default First sq set up and I need some help

I just got a 01 excursion and love it and don't want it to turn into a spl vehicle since I already have a jeep with a wall so I want to do a nice sq setup that's loud and clear and is not crazy expensive. I was thinking pods in the doors so 6.5 is what i am going to go with and thinking about the tantric hd comp 6.5s. I also need a nice double din that nice. I was looking at the avh-x8500bhs. I have a solid audio 4ch and want to see if I can use that unless it is really bad sounding. Subs I was thinking 2 tantric md in the wagon doors since from what I heard they sound really nice and clean. I was going to run those off 2 solid audio f-15s. Tell me what u all think and any suggestions u all have. My budget is 1k max but would love to stay under than. Thanks

$1K for everything is not enough for the equipment you're looking at. Those components and the 8500BHS already put you at $750 or more, assuming you find a great deal on the head unit, probably a used one. Plus CES is coming soon and there's always new stuff announced then, unless you don't want to wait another 6+ months potentially for a high end DVD head unit to come out.

Did you really say you want subs in the doors in a huge SUV? I don't want to misunderstand that part.

Well the hu I can get for 250 and ya I know 1k is not a lot but that what I wanted to see if maybe there are other better sq speakers for cheaper. And ya the excursions have some big wagon doors on the back and u see subs in them all the time. I still want to use it as a SUV but I want sound and have a clean look to it.

The tantric md I figures would sound very nice since I have the HDD now and they sound very nice and get down. And I saw a comparison tfade did between the tantric hd comp set and extremely nice sq speaker and they were very close and I remember that the nice sq speaker he used was like 3x the price of the hd comp set. And from what everyone is telling me 90% of it is placement and setup and 10% is equipment.

I am not competing I just want something to sound good. I figured asking a question in a sq section would help me out some but so far no. I will just go with what I have listed and see how it sounds. Thanks for all the help

Don't get pissy or I won't help you, you said sq, I went by the correct definition.
You need a hot glue gun and duct tape to find speaker placement. First you glue a frame to house the woofer to your door panel, then use the duct tape to seal the back waves off from the front. Keep trying different angles and doors until you find the right spot.
