Default been thinking

I've been wondering about selling the x8 or trading for a x12"
my plan is to tune super low and let my mids run the show. I'd be running it in 4ft tuned to 20hz on around 1800rms. I still have some work to do on the x8 before I'm finished with it but wanted to see if anybody has heard anything like this. I think it may come out totally different than any car I've heard before.

Sounds interesting, cant say ive read about anyone dropping tuning to let mids fill. How much would you want for the 8?

How low on the mids are you thinking? Like 60Hz, or lower than that?
Anarchy territory?

My mids are already running down to 60hz. After texting my new mids if they don't drop enough I'll run a single 8" under my dash to drop to 40-35hz

It would be a 8" sealed in middle of the car.
A lot if sq and ht builds use multiple sizes and locations to lesson the range each driver needs to play.

So u have a x8 and u want to trade it for a x 12 and then go add a another 8? Why not just build a Box so the x12 plays from 20-60hz? I'm sure u could.

To answer the question that's coming the x8 won't fit in this location and I need a more sq based driver that close to the listening area. I was also thinking of a ported 6.5" subwoofer there as well. Having a sub in front of the listener and the rear driver only playing super low should bring the soundstage forward a great amount. After I get locations and equipment finalized I will start deadening everything. The goal is to cover from single digits to well past audible freq. I'm not looking for loud just a solid 115-120db range over all freq. I think the sundown x will do a good job on sub ass reproduction and I loved the low distortion of the zv4 I had. Just the small taste I have the shop had them speechless on how well the 8" was doing. I would like to have this system finalized before wheeljam next year.
