Default silver flutes or peerless SLS in E46 doors

I have been digging up information on two drivers I think I should try in my E46 sedan. Right now I'm running tantric mids in the doors, but they're pretty much suited for infinite baffle only it seems. These doors almost form a small pod where the 6.5" driver mounts. I had to cut up the doors to make the tantrics fit but they were in rough shape already, so it didn't make it look any worse. The tantrics have lost all bottom end(they were great in my Zr2's doors) So I need something well suited for small sealed enclosures. The two drivers I'm looking at are.

Silver Flute W17RC38-04 woofers
The Madisound Speaker Store

Or

Peerless 830946 SLS woofers
The Madisound Speaker Store

I plan on going full three way active up front with my leviathan once it comes back from repair. Or rigging something up using my SAX200.4 and zxi150.4

I'll most likely run a single iDmax 12 off the rear channels on the sax200.4 as my substage.

Any tips, suggestions, real world experience are more than welcome. Also, I already own some Anarchy exodus drivers, but using these would require too much modifications to the doors.

i've been super impressed with the silver flutes, used them in a small sealed bookshelf speaker and had great clarity, depth of sound, and tone control. great bang for buck

How are they liking that kind of power? Do they seem stressed at all?

I put a pair of those silver flutes in some doors and wasn't too impressed. No idea how they compare sealed but I assume it has to be better.

What didn't you like about them? What kind of power and install?

They went into a 03 crossfire. Modded the stock housing to fit them in and cut the door panel a little bit cause they magnet is so big. They were a little louder but there wasn't much bass out of them. The door had a ton of holes (stock) so I'm sure that played a part in it.

They were on some kind of pioneer or kenwood amp, 40 or 60 x4. Maybe they didn't have enough power to them. I turned the gain up a bit cause they needed it. Don't get me wrong, they sounded great, but just not mind blowing. It truly is 90% install and 10% driver with these.

HU was some $130 frys pioneer, 4v pre outs (rated) crossed at 60hz or so via amp or crossover, not HU.. It's been a while so I don't really remember perfectly.

I just remember the tweeters being the showcase of the install (vifa ftw)

Actually I remember that we only replaced the mids because one of the tinsel leads broke off from stock ones (probably because he turned the bass up too much) and these were suggested, so he got them and I put them in.

I never heard back from the guy so I'm sure he was happy with them.

Because of the shitty install... you have absolutely NOTHING to add to this particular discussion.

That's like saying a DDZ didn't get loud...

... because I played it free air powered by my stock HU.
