Default Active Setup Advice

Never ran active but always wanted to try it. I just picked up a new DD which i plan on running active. Got all the equipment that will be going in, listed below. The plan is to have it as stock as possible. The question I have is vifa pointing at the driver? or not? also how low would you cross the tweeter? how high would you cross the mid?
HU : Pioneer 80PRS
Mid : Mach5
tweeter : Vifa XT25SC-90/04
Amp : PPi 900.4

Mach 5 MLI-65 6.5" woofer
T/S Parameters -
Fs = 62.2 Hz
Re = 3.4 Ohms
Qes = 0.68
Qms = 5.69
Qts = 0.61
Mms = 19.1 grams
Rms = 1.31 kg/s
Cms = 0.342 mm/N
VAS = 6.6 litres
Sd = 116.9 cm2
Xmax = 5.5 mm
Cone Diameter = 12.2 cm

Using the manufacturer frequency response graph I estimated the best crossover point by looking where the drivers were "flat". The only harm you could cause is to the tweeter by sending it lower frequencies than intended to play. So look for the fs of the tweeter, stay above it by at least 500hz and you should be safe. Play with the crossover points till you are happy, nobody can really tell you what the response will be in cab without doing the exact same build. I have only done one active setup but it was pretty damn easy to get the sound I wanted. New build is active with 14 drivers & 12 channels of zed goodness.

Having the mid play from 63hz-80hz (with a steep slope)to about 2500hz and the tweeter from 2500hz-20khz should be a good starting point. After that just slowly start dialing it in.

I'm willing to bet the first two channels have the higher crossover points. But to be absolutely sure look at the amp crossover to see which channels need what speakers. Typical crossover on amp has given cutoff points for each set of outputs.

So depending on which amp you have it, the tweeters usually are the first two channels. Mids will be channel 3 & 4 obviously. If you have an active deck the you can use any configuration you want.

I just finished setting up the 12 channel active front stage in my blazer. Worth every bit of the time i put into it.

Shouldn't matter which channels you use. Be really careful with the tweeter crossovers and levels.

Make sure to really play with the graphic EQ after you've set the x-over points. I'm 90% sure my 10's are crossed at 2.5khz and the tweeters pick up from there. Same amp and headunit as you. 10's are bridged on 3-4 and tweeters are wired to 4 ohm on channel 1

I'll check the db slope in the morning if I can remember
