Default sealed or ported

I am going to use 2 sundown audio e8v3 in my car. I was wondering if it would be better for sq to put the sub's in a sealed box instead of a ported box?

You may need to cut on your EQ to bring down the upper bass to reduce boominess, but I'd go with a ported enclosure tuned to the low 30s. Many people follow a rule of "sealed for SQ, ported to get loud", but you can make a ported enclosure sound very good. You want the deep bass that a pair of 8s in a sealed enclosure may have a hard time reproducing, even with cabin gain.

What kind of bass are you used to? Sealed might not be enough for you.

I used to have 2 e8's in a 40hz tuned t-line, and was very impressed with them. Ran them on Focal FPS mono amp, was extremely clean kick drums, and smooth low end response down to the upper 20hz range. over- excursion killed the surrounds after about 3 years.
