Running a set of IA 6.5" comps off a bridged Jbl 80.4 but have been getting some noises from it and I'm looking to upgrade to a better amp. I know a guy selling an Eclipse 36401 4ch for $50, would this be a step up from what I have now? I need something that will put out at least 85w rms, and something with better Sq than my Jbl.

Went with the Eclipse, I figured for $50 it was worth a shot. Finally got around to hooking it up and testing it out, but I have to take the rear seat out to mount it in place of the Jbl. Sounds so much better and the highs aren't lacking like they were with the Jbl. I have a feeling that it will do a lot more than rated power.
They're close to the same ratings but iirc the eclipse is rated at 13.8v. Either way the Jbl had some noise issues and liked to run hot, and yes my gains were set correctly. The eclipse doesn't even break a sweat.
