1000 watts is plenty for daily listening.

I disagree.

I gave my treo ssx about 1k and it was not any louder than my dc lvl 3 on the same wattage.

Sure you can give it half it's rated wattage, but it's going to go to waste. I guess that's my point....which is why I sold my saz1500d and trying to sell the treo too.

It would be like a parking lot attendant driving a ferarri. Sure, you can go 10mph daily, but why get that powerful of a car when it can go 100mph?

I said daily listening, not SPL competition or demo's where the few hundred extra watts might make a difference. So in this case, the 1000 watts for an Xcon is plenty for daily listening. I know the Xcon fairly well and have plenty of different amplifiers on it in a number of different enclosures.

That's stupid. You are the parking lot attendant who's offered a decent chance to win a ferrari for free and turns it down saying "I can't use it."

You CAN use that sub. It doesn't take full power to get loud. Ideally it would receive close to its RMS in power, but really how much gain would you notice between a few hundred watts for daily listening. I'm curious what did your treo and DC meter? Me personally I would take the better sub everyday even if one wasn't being used to its full potential especially if you can't tell the difference. The better sub will handle the power better and if you ever get the hankering to upgrade power you don't have to switch subs again. It seems to me that you are paying the same price for the lesser of a product....

Also how do you have such a high post count and continue to post ignorant statements?

Post count doesn't really mean much.
