Yea didn't see anything in there and I blew it out with an air wand. I shimmed it the same all the way around but could the voice coil wiggle when moving back and fourth ?

Well if it was making the noise before recone its gotta be in the frame or motor. Check the mesh vents or could be loose screws from motor to frame. There's usually a plastic spacer washer under the screw, one could be cracked or missing. Good luck.

Yea I guess the video doesn't sound the same as in person, i could gob some more glue onto the cap just in case. When I cut everything out I noticed that one of the mesh vents was cut way too long and may have been hitting the spider so I bent them all flat to the surface and glued them down. I thought that's what the noise was when I saw that but it's still doing it. But yea to check those bolts I'd have to rip everything out to get to them lol aaand then another recone

Check the dustcap?
Bingo! Got an E8v5 for a Surprise and it made the exact same noise. I carefully took the dustcap off, no noise. Glued it back on and made sure all was tight. I was so happy that's all it was, I purchased another in the YS. Now I have both in a sealed box in my A7 off a Crunch Pro @ 2ohms.

I also got a "Surprise" that was a 10" SD2. It was dusty, that's all. Cleaned her up. Now she's in the wife's A6.

Get yours glued down and bang away!

This morning when I got home from work I tried to mess with the dustcap, I couldn't get it off without demolishing it so I went around the edge of it with some super t glue. It's still doing it when I just tested it so ordered a cap from psi n I'll rip that sucker off when the new one gets here I guess.

Couldn't wait anymore so I cut the cap off, the glue was all the way around the inside rim of the cap so I'm thinking it was on tight. I free aired it cap off and it sounded better but in the box it sounded about the same as before . So I took the gasket off, lined the hole with weather stripping and tried again incase it was seal (I know I should have done that with the cap still on lol) but it didn't change anything. Think maybe cuz it's a sealed box it's somehow messing with it?

It's not normal for a sub to be making any other noise besides bass.
