Default Sundown SA8 v1.5 enclosure questions.

Got one of these from the yard sale. I built a box for it that's .75 cubes before sub or port. I used a 3 inch external pvc aero port. It's tuned around 38 now after I made some adjustments. From reading this is on the small side for port area. But according to the calculators if I went with 4 inch I'd be between 25-30 inches long depending on the frequency. Thoughts or opinions? Its in an f350 crew cab , enclosure is behind the center console with the port firing backwards into the back wall of the truck.

Have you gotten it in the truck? How's it sound?
If you can hear port noise then you could go bigger, these things love to move air

There is very minimal port noise if I flip up the seat and get near the port. But you cannot hear it otherwise. Do you think it could be louder with more port? Right now it's very smooth and clean sounding , and a fairly flat response . Overall I love the sound. Just curious if anybody thinks there's more to be had output wise.

It took a lot of experimenting to figure out the best spot within reason in the truck to get the sound where I sit.

If you're happy with then you can leave it.
The smaller port will help with the box being on the bigger side too.

I haven't experimented much with port size with these, I've always built based off the designs I've done.

All I've ever had in my trunk has been sa-8's. A single v1.5, single v2, and now two v3's.
The last yard sale I was tempted to grab a 10 instead, but its hard when these things just never cease to amaze me.

It's on a Rockford fosgate P1000 @ 1 ohm. On a very solid electrical.

That's quite a bit of power for a 1.5, especially for a box that big.
I believe they were only rated at 400 still.
And the suspension on those is much softer than v2 or v3
