Default Sundown X8v1 or SA8v3?

I'm looking to do a new setup with two 8" subs right now and potentially going with 2 more later on for 4 total.

I am trying to decide between X8v1's or Sa8v3's. From what I have read, the X8 is more SPL but can it have nice sound quality as well? Not SQ in a sense of a SQ only sub, but for my daily driver the ability to sound musically great but also kill lows and deep bass.

Thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated(=

Both are great subs. The x8's can get low as hell. Probably the best "small" setup ive ever heard was 2 x8s on a Twisted 1.8k. Those damn things were SMASHING 25hz. And i dont just mean playing it, i mean playing it loud. Sa8s are awesome as well. Both are probably in the top 5 8s on the market.

The sa is 2" coil, the x is 2.5". Id maybe base decision on planned power.

And still be able to kill the lows? I like me some air movement lol. Sorry if it seems like expecting too much. I had 2 X10v1 on an sk1500.1 and it was awesome both SQ and with killing lows. I'm wanting to achieve something similar but with 8's. I know the x8's are different than the rest of the x line and that is why I am debating here. I love people's reaction when you tell them it's 8's they just heard.....

I got a yard sale x8 and it doesn't sound like an 8 at all, it hits the lows very well. I ran my scv4000 on it almost to clipping before it bottomed out too lol

Lol and see this kind of stuff makes me want to go x8's. What flaws did you see on the sub or hear? Thinking about picking up some of the x8v1 from the yardsale.

Well mine was a surprise me so I'm not sure if it's the same defect as the listed ones in the yard sale but it sounds like coil rub/ tick. If I turn the sub so the logo reads upside down it goes away tho lol. I had already sent the money for a recone when I discovered that
