Default garage sale section

i think it would be a good idea to have a garage sale section, a section where people could post several items at once into one huge thread instead of several other threads to watch over. i think it would be very beneficial to have this section because there are alot of people that have several items for sale that have to maintain several threads. and im sure this would also get alot of people to go through their garage and sell alot of stuff which would also attract more attention to caco as a community. just something to think about... thank you for your time

I agree. almost every other forum ive been on had a section similar. Would be benificial to people with random parts/pieces left over after an install.

The problem with a garage sale section is that it's considerably harder to moderate, and basically requires the OP to keep track of everything going on in his thread which doesn't always happen. It can also become very confusing having to sort through everything when you're looking through a thread like that.

Maybe the section would not have the ability to post replies except by the OP, so you just deal through pm's to keep the thread clean and easy to manage?

hmmm... maybe a dumb question but if the seller didnt keep up with his own stuff wouldnt that just hurt him? I may not be looking at this fully but i would think the only thing the moderation staff would need to do is make sure name/date pics were current.

The staff would still have to monitor the threads as normal. And yes it would hurt the seller the most to not keep up with their threads, but it also detracts from the CACO community if there are too many threads like that, so it's something that should be avoided if possible.

It's a great suggestion.

Sometimes, I have some stuff that on it's own isn't even really worthy of it's own thread and so I don't bother. Those things stack up quick 'round my house. Lol.

What is the point of this? I see no advantage at all.

tally up what you have together and post it up for sale to see whats local to you. it just adds a local factor to it.
