Default Rogers 95 tacoma build....

whats up guys... my current project has been my 95 Toyota Tacoma 4x4... this build was just so i can have a nice clean/loud bump during the winter months...

so i decided to go with 4 8's powered by a kicker sx650.1 in a custom built box designed and built by me..lol... anyways if you have ever seen the floor behind the seats in a regcab tacoma you proble noticed that its not very enclosure friendly due to the tranny and transfercase hump... so i decided to mold the floor into the bottom of the box using fiberglass... anyways ill let a few pics do the talking...

The amp is actually a SX series... i also have the sxrc to go along with it...

ive only had the setup in for about 4 days... and iono what to think of it yet... its growing on me i guess... i like the amp and love the enclosure but im still not sure about the rex8's... im underpowering them and they just dont seem to want to take the power... they are rated at 175rms and im proble giving them around 150each after impedance rise and such...

i could be wrong though... its just when i turn them up i can hear the cone being tossed if you know what i mean... but i suppose it could just be because they are 8's in a sealed box fireing up...who knows... they do get decently loud though...and do not get hot...

but i think alot of it is just my ears... my last setup was 4 12" type r's on a aq2200d... so im guessing that im just not used to the sound of 8" woofers... i may end up looking into a different driver once i get the paper built back up... maby sundown or even kicker l7 8's...

i did look into the sound splinters when i was researching... i believe they require a little more volume than i have... the enclosure i built for the re's is somewhere around .3-.35cuft per woofer... and i REALLY dont want to build another enclosure... that one was a pain...lol... but i may end up rebaffling in the future to swap to some l7's to match the amp... we will see... i want to give these rex8's a chance... if my fears come true and they blow i will swap to something else... but i will say these little 8's do blur my vision a bit and tickle my ears between 40 and 50hz... i think i could burp em a solid 135 on a tl....
