Here is a quick clamp test I just did on a SD250.2 out of the box.

Considerations:

1- I tried to make the load rise near 4 ohms, but only got a little over 3 ohms. I'll do it again later with a 4 ohm load.

2- My power supply will only supply 20A at 14.4V, there is a little voltage drop at the cables and as soon as the amp passes the 20A draw mark the voltage drops to around the battery voltage (which is 12.5V). During the test the voltage dropped under 13V, I'll eventually test again with a stronger power supply.

3- Power test frequency was 25Hz. Sub was probably getting only 40-50W.

4- Tests like these on fused amps are not recommended, the internal fuse might open as it was dimensioned for musical program and during a power test the current will surpass the fuse rating.

I think you need to test a 400.1 in an actual vehicle ie a black Yukon :-D just throwing it out there
