Default Voltmeter build

First 6 are ready for shipment.
Final specs: 9-18V input range
High and low limit adjustable
Brightness adjustable
Calibration adjustable
Back case ~2.3" diameter
Depth .9"
Front case ~2.7" diameter

I have a few questions about what people like and don't like about them.

Resolution: Does it need .1V resolution or less?
Update Rate: Adjustable or not?
Dimmable: Yes or no?
Bass knob: Yes or no?
Display Type: Analog or digital or both?
Voltage Range: Selectable, 14, 16, 18V?
Measurement Range: Do you care about less than 11V?
14V meter reads 11-14.5
16V meter reads 13-16.5
18V meter reads 15-18.5

Round or square?

Feel free to answer all or some. I'm looking for opinions on these questions.

Summary:
3d printer arrived 3/19
Tried to make a few covers.

Final attempt:

PC boards arrive tomorrow 3/23, hope to have a working sample in the next couple days.

3/23: PCB's arrived, started the first proto build.

3/24: First proto built an functional. Short video too:

http://s1253.photobucket.com/user/br...xtgcu.mp4.html

3/25: Printed the back case
I don't like the square back. Next one will be round.

3/27 Flat back case and beveled front.

3/30 High and low alarms displayed.
Right now the alarms are hard coded to 10.5 and 15.5. When the input hits 10.5 you see this.

When you hit 15.5 you see this:

Once the buttons are functioning you will be able to set both levels.

3/31 Buttons function, settable high and low limit is working. Video shows setting high and low range. Then I ramp the voltage up and down to hit the new values.
http://s1253.photobucket.com/user/br...qc7qm.mp4.html

4/1 LEDs are working around the perimeter. They light according to the low and high range you set. Depending on the range each led represents a different voltage.
http://s1253.photobucket.com/user/br...7omwv.mp4.html

4/2 High and low range save function is done. It's essentially ready for testing.

Resolution: Does it need .1V resolution or less? at minimum
Update Rate: Adjustable or not? would be nice as some like faster
Dimmable: Yes or no? depending on color
Bass knob: Yes or no? nah, I like to mount my knob elsewhere
Display Type: Analog or digital or both? digital for me, digital analog style is cool
Voltage Range: Selectable, 14, 16, 18V? would be a great feature, save money
Measurement Range: Do you care about less than 11V? I wouldn't need less then 11
14V meter reads 11-14.5 would need to go to 15 for me
16V meter reads 13-16.5 ///
18V meter reads 15-18.5 ///

Dimmable would be awesome

Digital

No need for under 11v

14v range from 11-15v for sure

It would probably be an expensive feature but it would be really nice to be able to have an adjustable voltage set point where the meter flashes once it reaches your selected voltage

build it so it doesnt break after 6 months

i literly used my stinger blue led volt meter for 6 months before it stoped giving me a readout on voltage... but the blue stinger logo still lit up on it lol

seriously tho - about the size of the stinger would be cool / or maby even a little bit larger readout to see easily. dimable would be a nice feature and having a set point like said above to "flash" when voltage goes to a set voltage,,, like say you set it to battery resting voltage 12.9 when it plays down to say 13.1 it starts to flash kinda slow and faster each point below that so by 12.8 its flashing kind of fast ish ?
might be cool or annoying idk maby if the user did not like that feature they could just set it silly low to like 11 volts so it doesnt activate hopefully lol
no one should be playing down in the 11v range haha

seriously tho its a super bummer to spend any kind of decent $ on a product that doesnt last so maby some kind of waranty for a year or 2 would be rad - even if it was an extra cost of $5 ish at the time of initial purcahce.

ive been rolling with no voltage guage for a while now hating it - but i refuze to buy another piece of crap stinger guage for $20+ to have it last 6 months and die again.
id rather use my dmm than waste more $

edit - on cold days my singer hairpin 320 might go 15.2 / 15.3 during cold start up and drop down to the 15.0 / 15.1 range going down the highway once warmed up. i got lucky this alt charges like a beast ! so 15.3/.4 would be my upper voltage range

Res .1v is good
Update-i have one thats 500ms and ine thats 200ms and i see no real diff
Dimmable-would be nice.
Bass-yes
D/A- digital is easier for a good quick refresh rate id think
Range-10-18.5 would be nice
Other features- maybe a decent power usb charge out. Another nice feature would be to have 2 separate pick wires with 2 displays to show either drop across a point or to show both systems in high voltge applications where you have separate charging systems.
