Default Cool new ssa meter????????

well, we picked up one of those awesome new ssa meters, figured id write a review

first off, feels cheap as balls, sticker doesnt help. i feel like if it fell off the windshield it would die. however the suction cups make that nearly impossible.
better cups than the tl we used a couple years back....

now... i will say its damn good as a meter. pretty accurate, ive stayed within
1-2 tenths of a TL.

but im constantly fighting battery life, every burp i do. gotta reset the meter because it shuts down. (even with new ones)
also, the app..... the app i found is flawless. smooth with everything and easily readable. sometimes have the blutooth hiccup but thats anything...

trying to keep this simple stupid. if you guys have any questions post them!
loudest this meter has seen is a 56... so i cant "abuse" it but any other testing i could do.

There shouldnt be any bluetooth hiccup..

Unless you either exceed transmission distance or batt life is so low transmission distance gets shorter and shorter.

This is why most portable devices in the world like phones, tablets, drills, spllab, etc use lithium as a battery source because the user needs the performance until the very end of the life cycle.

Perhaps this "hiccup" is what is happening when you are referring to the internal battery used? It doesn't sound like lithium or the wrong sized lithium cell used for such device.

Tonycl- also, to be fair, if the meter is different than the magnum, that could simply be because the meter was designed before the magnum was released to the market.

To put it bluntly I was really interested in this project when it was more of a joint venture between a couple friends. They touted how cheap it was going to be and all, but then got SSA involved with helping with marketing and all "it seemed" and then the price seemed to be right on par with another well known bluetooth product that already seems to do the same job. To me that made it confusing that there was a product released with less features and near same price.

I have one question. Lets go back 5 years ago.

You think WHE Inc lost tons of sales when spllab started in the US?

Its not the cost, it's innovation and support.
what all can you offer in both features and application.

Not everything in car audio people go after the cheapest price.

But I will say again there should be absolutely no "hiccup" in bluetooth unless poor batt capacity or range is exceeded. If its neither, id be looking into tech support.

well i stated i cant keep batteries in it for poop.

and its not about cheap, i dont want cheap. dont care about cheap.
however make it more cost effective to put it in more peoples hands.
im not saying make a 20$ meter
(hell thats probably what you guys pay to have it made. )
i mean, it feels so cheap, i know there isnt 450$ worth of touchable product there.(maybe the ssa sticker ) but i get you are paying for the r&d that goes behind it. it just seems greedy if you ask me.
(obviously we didnt have a problem to buy & test it, just...feels like you get cheated)

suction cups are just.....wow...... lol. ****ing love them. i remember my old TL mic would just plop off the window on a hot day. cant get over them.

What's wrong with the battery compartment? Can you tape it up?

I will say when they first announced this, they said it would be about 350 but then ssa branded it and it went up 100.

Simply put, if you get a dealer base, price goes up.

And I do not know down to the penny what ours cost russia to make but it isn't no $20, lol.
Hell the battery alone is around $42.

You think 350 would sell like crazy?

I agree and would even take it a step further by almost swearing I heard something along the lines of "we can guarantee it being much cheaper than the closest competitor" What is "much" to some? 50? 100? I'd have imagine it be halfed until the sticker was added. They made it perfectly clear cheap was their intention. Can't hate for someone scooping up the idea though.
