Default help using DSO nano o-scope

can someone help me?? i bought a dso nano 201 and so far it's a paper weight. i connected it to the speaker outputs and followed the instructions on a few youtube vids but i don't get it. for instance..i the vid the guy says "with bass turned off"..does that mean with the amp turned off, gain all the way down, or is there some feature on the o-scope i don't see where i can turn the bass off from the o-scope? i've tried to change the wavelength but all it is is a scribbly line across the screen and all it does is stretch into a long scribbly line or short scribbly line..i need to get a rounded end wavelength on this thing..does someone know a link with step by step instructions on how to use it? this is the one i have. i will keep searching for instructions till i figure this out. thanks

Don't make it so complicated. Turn all the processing off or set to "flat" on your HU and/or EQ. It's basically just like doing it with a DMM. Volume at 3/4.

Disconnect the sub and hook the probe to the positive and the little ground to the negative and adjust the X and Y axes (left/right and up/down on the "D" pad) until you see your wave. Adjust the gain unitl you get the wave you want.

What size amp are you trying to set?

sounds easy!! i'm trying to set an optidrive 6000d. i have an epic 160 but i had the enhancer turned off. so i need to set the high, mid, and low on my HU to 0? should i turn off the loudness and turn down the SLA? what about the bass boost and other adjustments on the amp? those affect the output too don't they? could clipped signals be causing my subs to smell nasty? sorry so many questions bro but i'm learning. i'm upgrading the firmware right now too...

Yeah, turn everything to zero or flat. No boost or loudness or anything.

Do you have the 10x probe for it? The little nano with the 1x probe is really only good for ~ 3k, unfortunately. You may not get a good reading because you'll be maxing it out.

You use bass boost on your amp? Naughty. Turn it off. And leave it off. Forever.

Subsonic and all the other "filters" are fine. Unless you have your LPF set at 50hz.

The thing with turning processing off is that you want the cleanest signal you can get and testing with a 50hz tone, all of that B.S. will alter the signal.

From what I understand the V201 is only good for 80VPP.

I think it's probably because that sub is not moving enough to allow it to cool.. Id turn the gain up a bit so it moves more for cooling reasons.. That's why it's hard on subs to be underpowered..
