Default Packaging woofer tops, my way

thought id share how I packed 2 top assembly since im a fan of overkill and mostly over thinking. not the cheapest method but they'll certainly arrive in the same condition they left

Materials-
  • 3 pillows that were on clearance
  • 48" x 1/2" dowel
  • 8 screws
  • tape
  • HD box
Got a heavy duty thick walled box, the 3 pillows at walmart
picked up the tape at my local dollar store, same brand (the good stuff) is cheaper there then walmart

First, I measured a tight fit between the baskets to the outside of the box to accommodate the padding, then distance between the coils so they cant hit. came out to 12"

cut the 4 dowels to 12", predrilled the center hole and assembled the two tops

put the pillow in the bottom. this cradles the baskets from rolling and guards the bottom lip (pillows about 5" thick and medium stiff)

add tops and gaskets

go commando on the third pillow and remove some fluff so its the perfect thickness

add tops

adjust the pillows to caress all the nooks and crannies that need to be safe

top it off

then close it up and use a half role of tape to secure it.

if I shake a package and it makes a sound or moves, itll be reopened and fixed. if it can move, it can smash

thought id share

Here's another way that shipping departments use...wrap it in a bag and place on sheet of styro under it then fill box!
