external regulator is a seperate box that wires into the alt. It has a dial to set your voltage, so you can set it anywhere from 13.0 to 20+ volts, if you wanted to.

you could do either or. Although i wouldn't run a 2nd alt ext reg and stock pcm regulated unit on a common electrical.

as far as i know most alternators can be converted to ext regulated and the external reg units can run 2-3 alts most of the time.

it will not work as a drop in unless you have an alternator shop convert it to the correct regulator configuration for your vehicle.

i have no clue about that fittiment, the tool i use only goes up to 09 and it doesn't even say for that. i can get up with mechman if your interested.

This unit will physically fit SOHC, Naturally Aspirated 4.6/5.4/6.8 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury applications with the 3g, 6g or Mitsubishi FULL SIZE units.

PCM controlled vehicles will experience a battery light and possibly a check engine light. I only experienced the battery light when running my PCM controlled car on an external regulator.

I can convert this back to an internally regulated model and provide connections for 3g and 6g applications. 3g must be non-PCM controlled, 6g or Mitsu can be internal or PCM regulated.

Serious shoppers can email me and I can tell you what we can do and what it will cost.
