Ok im not sure what happen but ill give you the full story. About 4 years ago I decided I wanted to upgrade my alt, so I looked for the most cost effective way of doing so. I found spring hill auto electric online and the had parts to upgrade alternators. So I called up and spoke with the representative, who I believe was also the owner. He hooked me on the parts. Smaller pulley, new stator, new regulator, the works everything new but the rotor. So, I bought the 120 package. I then researched for an alternator re builder in my area and took my original cs130d and the parts so he could put it together. When I got back I paid him the 65 in service and he had sandblasted and cleaned up the alternator case and the alt looks new, he load tested it in my face and it put out the 225 or something, at I wanna say 5000 alternator rpm.i don't remember. Anywho, went Home, installed it, but was getting 12v at idle. If I revved to 2k my voltage would jump up but that's hardly idea. So I took it to 3 auto parts and they all told me it was ok. So I finally gave up and left it in my shed and bought a oem replacement and started saving again to do it right, i want to assume it has a bad diode or something but it would charged when i revved so i guess im just retarded...
Came off a 5.7 350 or 96 tahoe
New? Minus rotor I guess.
