I say do center ported. Its gives for a nice look and the sub's will be displayed nicely as well. Plus I never really have been a big fan of the one sided look. Lol
I was thinking one-sided purely to try and make it loudest in the passenger seat.

Love me a flat wall top port. One of the nastiest trucks I've sat in^
That looks sweet. It's going to be a 4th, not flat ported though.

Still recommend top port? That would be by far the easiest

You should order the FI's today they might get to you in a couple months.........
Hopefully it won't take a couple months :(

I've got $2,015 right now, get paid $4xx in two days and will be selling an amp that day too for $100 so I'll only have about $2,500 this weekend to spend. I'll probably have to save up another two weeks or so to buy them.

Friday is my last day of school. After that I can work 40 hours a week and my paychecks will be bigger.

I'm getting 8 12" SP4's, so I think it'll be more than $312.50 a piece, haha.

I wonder if they'd let me do a down payment of $2,500 this weekend and pay the last bit when they're ready to ship :dontknow:

about 4 weeks last i heard... ordered something from fi about a week and a half ago i probably wont hear anything until another 2 weeks so you'll just have to be patient
Dang :sad5:

It only took two weeks for mine ? And I was going to send him some cash up front and he told me not to worry about it but yours is a lot bigger order ! And if he has read anything about you he would be smart to get money up front cuz you will probably change your mind eight more times in the two weeks it takes to build them !!!!!! LOL JK Buddy !!:hello:

Tear-down started today

Image

28kw just chillin'

Image

When I was finishing up and had three batteries in parallel, one of the wires slipped and hit the other jumper rail. There was a big pop, but luckily no explosions. They were touching for about 10 seconds before I figured out where it shorted. Melted the heat shrink of a few lugs. One amp was still hooked up to the batteries when this happened. Going to have to test the amp and the affected batteries later. Hopefully no serious damage.

Definitely going to do aluminum bars when I rebuild.

Image

Going to remove, test, and clean all the batteries. No sense in hauling around 2,000 pounds of lead in the back of my truck when my subs are unhooked. I pay for my own gas, and don't want to get 10mpg if I don't have a system playing.

Image

Got a CRUNCH 2 channel to run some "Massive" 6.5" subs in my doors.

Guts:

Not beefy obviously, but they look complicated.

Soundive subs are apparently going to ship this week. I'm going to continue the teardown after I rest for a little bit. It's going to be a progressive thing I work on after work from now on.

I'm hoping to get the new system in and playing by August 10th this year.

Battery bank and sub amps are out

Image

Empty bed besides the speaker wires and power/ground runs. Alternator relay is unplugged and I put the stock belt back on, so the three high output alternators are not being powered on or spun.

Today started out good. On my way to work, I found a safety gas can on an off ramp. It was almost completely full of gas too. I can't tell if it's regular gas or mix though. Anybody know how to tell? Has a blueish hue and smells a bit like Stihl mix, but I'm not sure if that's what it is

Front wall is mostly out, along with the steel bars. Made some good progress today. I have tomorrow off work, so I'm going to be working hard on it. going to bust out the driver's side and cieling. Hopefully more!

Wardens are just chillin' for now.

Will probably keep these for a while, but I'm not really sure what to do with them when I move out...

Got the driver's side wall and cieling out! Just the back, floor, and one corner piece to go!

With the help of a friend, I was able to tear the back out

Image

Image

Then I cut/ripped/un-bolted a section of floor

Image

I now have 63x38x44 inches with the seats pushed all the way back and leaned to a comfortable position. That equates to about 61 cubes of gross volume. If I do a center port and remove the center console, I can gain a bit more usable volume. Should be enough for what I want to do though.

...and here's most of the aftermath, haha

Image

As far as tear-down goes, I just have to remove the last 3/4 of floor now!

Then I'll start a new build log when construction begins again.

Thanks, looking forward to getting the new build going. I move out hopefully this weekend. After that, I can start on it. I'll be living with my ex-girlfriend's dad for a month before I leave for college. It's npt as sketchy as it sounds, haha. He's my co-worker and friend, but I still mess with him about railing his daughter, haha

All I can say is WOW
