Loctite PL 8x Premium.....

I don't get why people are confused. I used the PL on the first layer and am gluing/screwing the other layers on
It'll actually be impossible for it to fall down and hit anyone since the bottom later will go from on top of the wall to the windshield

Did you prep the roof at all? I ended up paying someone $20 to sand my whole room for me

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It's attached to the wall and there will be a stripper pole up front

I didn't prep the roof though. Didn't want to sand off the paint and expose it to the possibility of rust from the moisture in the PL

For the front to fall down, the back would have to go through the roof lol

If you read the 8x tube, you're supposed to spray it with water before you stick the 2 pieces together. I didn't sand down to bare metal, just scratched the surface up

Only concern I see with the way you did it was you only had 1 piece of wood pushing each piece up. Better to have too many than not enough

Damn, I didn't read the label at all :(

I figured it was just one of those "squeeze it out of the tube onto whatever you want to stick" kind of adhesives :dontknow:

I just put one piece jacked up in the middle because I wanted it to bow the MDF to the contour of the roof (which seemed to work good) and I only had one mini-jack to use

Finished up the last bit of fiberglassing and started painting

I'm doing flat black with red splatter. Will take pics when it's done

I accidentally ordered my RCA's wayyyyyyy too long, so I don't think I'm going to put my headunit in the dash. Going to get some split tubing and make it so I can give demo's while standing outside my truck (and still have control of the radio).

Image

This serves several purposes:

1. If I'm not in the vehicle, someone won't increase the volume way into clipping where things would be damaged

2. I can give people demos without bing in the truck (so three other people could sit inside

3. I can easily remove my headunit when I'm on campus and not worry about it being stolen

4. When tailgaiting, I can control my music from the bed of the truck

So, something that was going to be bad turned out to be OK

I had thought about kerfing it, but the curve isn't drastic at all and I didn't want to weaken the boards at any point.

The slope really isn't bad, honestly

I remember when you were scared to cut a hole for your thru the bed wiring and look at your poor truck now lol !

(off color on red splatter picture is extra reflected sunlight, not bare wood like it looks)

I know how to weld. I did a decent amount in auto-tech class, but I didn't want to weld a frame into my truck this time. Maybe next build :dontknow:

I'm happy with the paint on the third roof layer :)

Ceiling is in, although there is a gap. I'll fill it in with spray foam

Got half the bus bars done. Will install the last three tomorrow at work

So the splater painted ceiling is also the top of enclosure ? and its only going to be sealed with spray foam ? Dont seem like that will seal very well ? I dont get it bro you went to all the trouble to use 2x4s and 2x6s screwed and glued and pipe bracing so nothing can flex and the top of the enclosure is going to have spray foam holding it together ? Or am I missing something ? Dont get me wrong I am not trying to beat ya down just wondering ?

It seems like you're not understanding much of this build

The enclosure walls were built up to and glued/screwed to the first two layers. This third layer is just going front to back on the roof. There's a gap at the front where the first two layers bent and this one won't. It's all in the opening of the ported section, so it's not leaking anywhere. Kind of hard to explain, but I think doug gets it. :hello:

Basically, lol

Oh so there's two layer on top of enclosure already with this piece going over them and extending to front of the cab ?
