2000 ford focus alternator question

Okay so i have a 2000 ford focus and the alternator is a ***** to get at. Has anyone on here replaced or done the big 3 on a car like mine? What's the easiest way to access the alternator? :dontknow:

looks like the SOHC?
I believe you have to remove the coolant expansion tank and power steering reservoir.

Yes sir that would be correct. And alright, how hard would it be to remove these? pretty easy?
Looks like just a couple bolts.
Will ask buddy of mine who owned a Focus...
Might be easier to put it on jack stands and get to it from the bottom. Its just an option if you don't want to take all that stuff apart.

Yeah i was debating that also. But either way im going to wait until it gets warmer out. Once the time comes ill bump this and let you guys know what I did.

I know this is kind of an old thread but i just did mine. Its about a 45-hour job with 2 people. Have to pull the coolant tank, power steering tank, and the thing on the back of the fire wall. Then it takes some fun wiggling and it pops out. It was 100x easier putting the new one in though. To get the belt off i wiggled my fat A** under the car and got at the tensioner with a wrench. :lol:

Damnnnnnnn, yeah i've held off doing it because just looking at it makes me wanna :throwup: But when I decide to do it i'll let you know if I run into any problems

Ment 45 min- 1 hour lol. I wish alcohol was involved would have made it more fun
