i have had both and i didnt notice the difference but then again i dony play with all the features very much nut i kept the 9886 and sold the 9885 lol

9855 is far better than the 9886. You don't need any extra module to run the 9855 active. The 9886 requires the imprint to run active. The downfall of the 9855 is the not so nifty glide touch. Because of that, the 9887 is the better choice over both the 9855 and 9886.

He asked about a 9855, not 9885, two totally different decks. 9885 is more of a mid-line to low level deck. Now unless he typo'd, I'm pretty certain he's asking about a 9855.

I personally love my 9855. And i have not even started to mess with the time alignment yet. The glide touch is not bad at all it actually helps navigate through the folders of music easier as long as u know where the track u are looking for is.
