I recently picked up an Eclipse 5340 head unit from a garage sale and it is locked with a security disc. Does anyone know how to unlock it without paying out the butt to send it to eclipse?

found this lil nugget of info on another site....

"on the bottom of all eclipse units to my knowledge is two (2) solder
points that are visible through the chasis, if you take something like
a paper clip and open it up so you got a "V" shape, you can make
contact with these two terminals, and that should reset everything
back to factory specs, that is what eclipse does when you (as the
registered owner) send your unit in to them when it (the H/U) sceams
"call 800", or "help"... and this will save you a two to four week
wait, BUT YOU DIDN'T HEAR THIS FROM ME, I don't want someone at
Eclipse getting pissed at me because "I Let Out Their Secret"
I'm just don't feel it's fair to go so long W/O a toy. but now that I
let the cat out of the bag, i'm probally gonna be sorry because alot
of items will end up stolen now, and now their "ESN" means nothing, SO
FORGET YOU READ THIS AND SEND YOUR UNIT IN, YOU CANNOT FIX IT, YOU
NEVER READ THIS, I DO NOT EXIST, THIS THREAD NEVER EXISTED, IT IS ALL
FALSE, NEVER MIND, DO NOT READ THIS, just go about your marry little
way and pretend all this is a heap of Sh*t, and everything I spew out
of my mouth is false."

i hope this helps

There is a set of three in the open the middle of that set and a 4th is exposed from a circle cutout just above those. This combination worked for me. If needed I can upload pics with some arrows :)

Lol it is interesting when I finally did it correctly I was like really? For the first couple of mins I had it going between help and call 800 and sec disc lol don't touch the actual chassis and a solder point that just throws it into help mode lol

This is the spot on all eclipse radios (apparently) that the bypass will work on.

You need a paper clip or small wire on it and touch the solder in the round hole on the back with one end ad the middle of the three exposed solders with the other end.do this with the power on and it will supposedly reset the device back to factory settings for any eclipse hu. I can confirm that it worked on my 5340 model.

Hope this helps everyone :)
