Im looking at getting 2 copper buss bars to run for my front batt under the hood (xs D2400). but I havent found any in the thickness I want under 12"; So I was going to cut it....but I don't know if copper can be etch primed/primed/painted without it having a bad reaction. I dont want it to oxidize, and Ill be using electrical joint compound on the wire connections. anyone know if copper can be painted? I would get it plated but I imagine that costs a nice dime
You can certainly paint it. Just be sure to leave the spots where your connections will be made untouched. Maybe just use a good enamel based paint.. Or lead based if you can find some,
ah aight cool man. how about the prep though? Ive worked with alot of etch primers and most of them say they're safe for stainless, steel, and aluminum but Ive never seen them say anything about copper.
