I have a pair of the pioneer shallow 8's that I bought years ago and have been untouched since then, from the very little I played one I would probably say they arent bad at all, pretty solid.

The only reason the Dayton's are not in my car is because I traded the 21" for a set of shallow 8's. They model up to be great little midbass drivers and they are damn sexy too.

I haven't heard earthquake and bad ass in the same sentence since way back when they made the Magma's
