I'm an old geezer compared to most of you probably. I'm just an old basshead that still likes to rattle my brain when I listen to my stereo at home or in my vehicles. I'm out of touch with things it seems when it comes to car audio. It's cool to see how things have progressed over the years. I have a little bit of bump in my Yukon but nothing like a lot of you guys have. Anyway I was listening to Big Smo showing off for a buddy the other day and blew a voice coil in one of my 12" JL W6V2's started to frantically look for a fix and came across this site on SMD. Thanks for the add. Glad to be a member. :nod:

Tbh not much has changed in years. Maybe more features in some stuff but it's not like you would have expected 10 or 20 years ago. Yeah amps and subs are built tougher and yeah some head units have some nice features but really it's not much imo.

I had a sony xm 4040 when I was 20~ and really the only thing I've seen in amps is the crossovers built in and more power and maybe clip lights. Not a huge change imo!

Sounds like it's time to get some competition grade gear :thumbsup:

Heard about this site years ago have been constantly reviewing forums, and other listings for information purposes to correctly build a system and have the right equipment to enjoy on the daily. May start out over powered just for the ability to adjust frequencies to perfect my overall audio experience listening to the music I enjoy that ranges across the board on genres and generations. I'm really here for the love of music and quality of sound, my old system was a kicker solo x 18 on a kicker 2500.1, now wanting the quality of sound from the jl brand but across the board for bass drive.

Not only was a poor but i didnt want to bullshit my way in just to take information without being able to use it right away and have systems already in place to make the even better and to have the means to purchase any goodies i may be lucky to obtain by these great audio philites

ive always kniown about CAC JUST never had the abilty to use any info i surely didnt want to bullshit my way in and act like i was someone of any skill or knowledge theres too many people like that,,just waited till i was set up and in position to make improvements and learn and also be able to buy old schol equipement from great car audio people who other wise wouldnt give a shit about someone who didnt care for audio was just rich and could buy his way into whatever he wanted i guess?..no thats about right no guees

Hey, how's it going CAC? My name is Tony. I heard about this place after multiple google searches years ago and finally decided to join. I can't really justify the prices of brand new high end car audio equipment yet as I am new to the high quality SQ equipment. This place is perfect and has been exactly what I was looking for. Finally!

I am currently driving a 2008 Toyota 4Runner and am in the middle of an SQ build. I am working on updating to higher quality everything (HU, speakers, amps, subs, etc.) except wiring for now and I know I will be able to find what I'm looking for here eventually.
